What is SoarMA?
SoarMA is a new program to help families of seventh and eighth graders invest in their child’s higher education through a 529 college savings plan.
SoarMA provides eligible seventh and eighth graders with an initial $50 Deposit for their 529 college savings account.
After enrollment, and for up to 365 days after the student’s account is opened, the SoarMA program will match up to an additional $400 of savings provided by others into the student’s 529 college savings account. Match funding will be provided in increments of $100.
Low and moderate income children with college savings are 3x more likely to attend college and 4x more likely to graduate college*
